Your Experience Step by Step
Morning Transfer & Boat Departure
Your day begins in Puerto Ayora with ground transfer to the Itabaca Channel (about 40 minutes), followed by a short boat ride to North Seymour.
As the rocky point comes into view, your dive team conducts the safety briefing.
Moment to feel: Anticipation rising — this is where the currents start working for you.
Descend along the rocky structures where ocean flow attracts pelagic species.
Common encounters include:
- White-tip reef sharks
- Hammerhead sharks
- Mobulas and eagle rays
- Octopus
- Schools of reef fish
The attraction of this sector is the chance to observe multiple white-tip sharks swimming with the current.
Highlight: Fast-moving marine life in natural current corridors.
Enjoy snacks and water onboard while your guide prepares the second immersion.
The itinerary is sometimes combined with Mosquera Islet or Daphne depending on sea conditions.
Your second immersion explores additional sections of the point, including areas where divers may spot:
- Hammerheads cruising in the blue
- Mobulas passing through
- Blue nudibranchs and macro life
- Tropical reef species
Entry to the punta area can be slightly challenging, but once inside, the marine life density is rewarding.
Highlight: A balanced mix of pelagic action and macro surprises.
After your dives, return to Itabaca and transfer back to Puerto Ayora in the afternoon.
You’ll come back with something valuable:
More confidence in current diving…
and unforgettable shark encounters.
