Your day begins at the Puerto Ayora pier, where you board your yacht with a certified naturalist guide and set course toward Pinzón.
As you cross the Galapagos Marine Reserve, keep your eyes open — dolphin sightings and seabirds are sometimes spotted during navigation.
Moment to enjoy: Smooth morning sailing through protected waters.
Before reaching Pinzón, many itineraries include a warm-up snorkel stop near La Fe or a similar calm bay.
Here you may encounter:
- Sea turtles
- Colorful reef fish
- Rays
- Occasionally sea lions
This first session prepares you for the main event ahead.
Highlight: Calm, clear conditions ideal for all experience levels.
Now comes the reason this tour is famous.
Pinzón’s waters are widely recognized for their high marine concentration, especially in areas like Penguin Bay.
Possible encounters include:
- White-tip reef sharks
- Blacktip sharks
- Sea turtles
- Sea lions
- Rays
- Large schools of tropical fish
Visibility here is often excellent, making it a favorite for underwater photography.
Highlight: One of the best shark-viewing snorkeling sites from Santa Cruz.
After snorkeling, enjoy lunch served onboard while surrounded by open-ocean scenery.
Depending on conditions, some operators may offer light experiential fishing during the return navigation.
Highlight: Relaxed yacht atmosphere after an action-packed morning.
In the afternoon, sail back to Puerto Ayora and transfer to your hotel.
You’ll return salty, sun-kissed, and very satisfied with your underwater encounters.
